1945 – 1955

 Anni- Frid Synni Lyngstad was born on 15th November 1945 in Björkåsen, Ballangen - outside of Narvik, and she was the only member of ABBA with non-Swedish origin.
 Frida´s grandmother Agny decided to move to Sweden and not to stay in the postwar Norway. Frida was only 18 months old.
 Frida´s mother Synni Lyngstad died at the age of 21.
 Frida was spending her childhood in Torshälla, just outside of the town of Eskilstuna, and was brought up by her grandmother.

1956 – 1966

 Frida made her stage debut at a Red Cross charity event in 1957. Two years later, she started working with the Ewald Eks kvintett dance orchestra and performed with different bands.
 In 1961 she started singing in Bengt Sandlund's big band and then met Ragnar Fredriksson, who became her first husband.
 Hans Fredriksson, Frida´s and Ragnar´s son is born in 1963.

1967 – 1977

 On September 3, 1967, Frida won a talent contest in Stockholm. Soon afterwards Frida signed to EMI records and released En ledig dag/Peter, kom tillbaka as her first single. Although she didn’t have much commercial success as a recording artist (up to the early seventies), she still was a fairly well-known and popular stage singer. Also, in 1967 Frida´s daughter Lise-Lotte Fredriksson was born.
 In March 1969 she entered Melodifestivalen with Härlig är vår jord. She only ended up fourth but the song would become her first record to hit the top 10 of the Svensktoppen chart. Frida divorced Ragnar and met Benny Andersson.
 In 1970 she was part of a cabaret show together with her fiancé, Benny Andersson, along with Björn Ulvaeus and his fiancée, Agnetha Fältskog. Their cooperation started very soon.
 From 1972 and for the next decade Frida was mainly occupied by her work with ABBA, and she became a part of pop history. She sang the lead on pop classics like Fernando, Money, Money, Money, Knowing me, knowing you, Super Trouper and I Have A Dream. Despite being so busy, she released the Swedish-language solo album Frida Ensam in 1975.
 In 1977 ABBA is on the top, and thanks to an article from a magazine Bravo is discovered the fact that Frida´s father is alive - and lives in Germany. They met after after all the years.

1978 – 1988

 Frida and Benny get married in 1978.
 A year later, Frida is starring in the Swedish movie Gå På Vattnet Om Du Kan (Walk On The Water If You Can).
 Frida and Benny split up in 1981.
 In February 1982 Frida started recording her first English language solo album Something’s Going On, produced by Phil Collins. She also moved to London. In 1984 the Something’s Going On was followed by the album Shine, produced by Steve Lillywhite. The same year she met Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss von Plauen, her future husband, and then Frida withdrew from the public for a number of years.

1989 – 1999

 It was 1990 and Frida started cooperation with the Det Naturliga Steget (The Natural Step) organization.
 She got married with Ruzzo Reuss two years later.
 In 1990s Frida devoted most of her time to environmental issues, but in 1996 she made a comeback with the Swedish language album Djupa andetag. This remains Frida’s latest solo album so far.
 Frida´s daughter Lise-Lotte died in a car accident in 1998, one year later died also Frida´s husband Ruzzo Reuss.

2000 – 2007

 leads a fairly low-key life, devoting herself to environmental issues and charity work but she also recorded few duets with other artists, for example with Filippa Giordano or Dan Daniell. She also attends premieres of Mamma Mia! the musical.
